Caring for mattress

Caring for ergonomic foam mattresses

With proper regular care, your Familon ergonomic foam mattress will last longer and stay comfortable, clean and fresh. Don't beat the mattress as this may damage the advanced foam structure.

Air and vacuum the mattress regularly. Let your bed breathe a little before making it – this allows any moisture absorbed into the bedding to evaporate. Regularly flipping and rotating the mattress from end to end will help to distribute the load more evenly. You can get rid of the "new mattress smell" by pressing the mattress while vacuuming it. The smell is completely harmless and will go away by itself over time.

Washing the removable cover: Remove the cover and wash it according to the instructions provided with the product. Don’t wash the foam. Reshape the cover while it’s still damp and dry in a well-ventilated area.

To get the best out of your Familon ergonomic foam mattress, check the label and packaging materials for the care instructions – following them will help extend the life of your mattress. To keep your bed hygienic and fresh, replace your mattress every six to eight years.

Note that the memory foam used in some mattresses reacts to temperature and hardens if aired outside in sub-zero temperatures. This is perfectly normal, and once back indoors it will straighten out and soften at room temperature. The mattress will keep its shape better if you only air the protective cover.
